Help Sophie & Laura Rebuild After Devastating Apartment Fire

Hi everyone,

We’re reaching out on behalf of our dear friends, Sophie Fishman & Laura Chamberlain, a loving queer couple who have just experienced an unimaginable loss. On June 12, 2025, a devastating fire tore through their apartment building, destroying everything they owned.

They escaped with their lives and their dog, Ringo, but heartbreakingly, their sweet kitten, Yuri, did not survive. The fire moved fast, and nothing inside their home was salvageable — clothes, furniture, keepsakes, work equipment — all gone.

They are now faced with the overwhelming task of starting from scratch: finding a new place to live, replacing everyday essentials, and mourning the loss of their home and their pet.

We’re raising funds to help them with:

• Emergency housing and deposits

• Clothing and daily necessities

• Furniture and home goods

• Pet supplies and vet check-ups for Ringo

• Rebuilding a sense of normalcy and security
