If you know Sophia, you know her heart.
You might know her as the creator behind A Quick Spoonful, the food blog and TikTok community where over a million people have come to love her quick, real-life recipes and her even realer personality. You might know her from her cookbook, The Lazy Girl’s Guide to Delicious Dinners. Or maybe you just know her as the mom who somehow always shows up for everyone else, no matter what she’s carrying.
And she has been carrying a lot.
Just one year ago, Sophia lost her husband, the love of her life and the “Mr. Spoonful” so many of you came to know and adore. In the hardest season imaginable, she has continued to show up for her three kids, for her community, and for every single person lucky enough to call her a friend. She has done it with grace, with humor, and with a generosity that honestly defies explanation.
Now, she needs us to show up for her.
On the morning of March 19, Sophia and her children were among nearly 400 residents forced to evacuate The Rialto Apartments in Orange County, Florida after the building was deemed structurally unsafe. Residents reported hearing popping noises, finding doors jammed shut, and seeing cracks spreading throughout the building. Firefighters had to physically pry doors open to get people out. The building remains closed indefinitely, and residents cannot return until a full structural evaluation is completed.
Sophia and her kids left with their guinea pig and what they could grab. That’s it.
What This Fund Will Cover:
- Temporary housing for Sophia and her three children
- Groceries, clothing, and essentials for the kids
- Moving and storage costs
- Security deposits and first month’s rent for a safe, stable home
- Any unexpected costs that come with being displaced without warning
Why This Matters:
Sophia would never ask for this herself. That’s just who she is. She’s the person making someone else a meal on the worst day of her own life. She’s the mom staying up late to create something joyful for her community while quietly holding it all together for her kids.
She has poured into so many people. Now it’s our turn to pour into her.
No amount is too small. If you can’t give, sharing this page means the world. Let’s wrap around this family and make sure Sophia and her kids have a safe place to land.
