A few years ago, a property owner in Polk County, FL, who allowed unhoused individuals to stay on his property while they tried to get back on their feet, received code violation fines for the condition of the property. Mr. Robinson, the property owner, has attempted to remedy the situation himself but has been unable to do so alone. Now, the Cosmo Project, a non-profit organization in Polk County, FL, that helps unhoused individuals in the community, is lending a hand to Mr. Robinson to clean up the property and become compliant with the violations that have been placed upon him. To date, he owes a total of $7,825.74 in fines. Local volunteers with the Cosmo Project are lending a hand, as well as some local small businesses, to aid in restoring the property. We are asking for help to pay the fines for Mr. Robinson’s property violations. If you are able to help by donating, we and Mr. Robinson would greatly appreciate it. If you are unable to help financially, please share to spread the word.
I have attached a copy of the tax bill but have redacted certain information to maintain the privacy of Mr. Robinson. All donations received will be paid directly to the Polk County Tax Bill.
