I am creating this fundraiser for Skylar Soville, a determined 19-year-old who is working toward a safe, stable, and independent future. When I met Skylar outside a Nashville program that provides free meals, he was barefoot because someone had stolen his shoes. I gave him mine, and we started talking. As I got to know him, I learned that he had spent years moving through the foster-care system. Shortly before we met, he had been brought to Nashville and left there without money, housing, or support in a city that was unfamiliar to him. Even after experiencing homelessness, Skylar has remained intelligent, hopeful, and deeply determined to build a better life for himself.

Right now, Skylar is temporarily staying with a friend in Cookeville, but he still needs help securing the basics that so many of us take for granted. Donations from this fundraiser will go directly toward stable housing, clothing, transportation, and educational or vocational training so he can move forward with real security and opportunity. I am handling the withdrawals myself to make sure these funds are used for Skylar’s immediate and practical needs. Please donate if you can, or share Skylar’s story with others. Every contribution, no matter the size, will help him move closer to stable housing, education, employment, and the independent future he is working so hard to reach.
