Help Simon Build a Home in Kenya

Donation protected
Hey Everyone! This here is my friend Simon! He is born and raised in Kenya, Africa. I had the absolute pleasure of meeting him this past summer when my family and I were vacationing. Simon previously was working at one of the most beautiful hotels in the Maasai Mara, which is where we had many memorable interactions with him. Simon is a Maasai, which is a large local tribal group that is still active in Kenya. They continue to practice traditional ways of life like living off the land, dancing and singing, matchmaking/jumping contests, language, etc.

Simon and I had many conversations, and we grew a close bond by the end of our stay. He communicated with my family that his village struggles to make ends meet, and sometimes they don't have basic necessities like food to eat every day. He was recently laid off from his position at the hotel and can no longer make the money he needs to survive. Along with the recent flooding in Kenya, he has lost lots of his animals that his family used for survival. In addition his father unexpectedly past away after getting sick about a week ago, and Simon has been struggling to help his family stay in their feet. He has been trying to build a house for himself and his future family to live in for months now, but now is fully dedicated to protecting his young siblings and mother by being the new “father figure”.

Everything in Kenya is super expensive, especially for local Maasai people who live in very remote, off-the-grid villages. Even receiving donations at their individual village can very difficult and almost impossible.

I would really love to help him raise the money he needs to have a house...finally! We personally went to visit a Maasai village in Amboseli National Park and were deeply impacted by the people, the traditions, and of course the culture. If you feel so inclined to help Simon reach his goal of only $1000, we can make a serious impact on him and his life. Let's DO IT!!!
