Many children have no food to eat from after school Friday until they get back to school on Monday. SI Panther Packs would like to change that! Each Friday, a bag filled with non-perishable, easy-to-prepare (kid-friendly) food is placed anonymously in each child's backpack that has chosen to participate. The food consists of two Breakfast, Lunch, Supper, and snack items to last over the weekend.

The SI Panther Pack program has been in existence for 9 years now!

We are now providing weekend meals to over 60 kids each Friday.

That is over 500 meal items each week. Panther Packs has provided over 17,600 backpacks of food and 140,000 meal items to kids in the South Iron community in the last 9 years! It costs about $4 to feed a child each week, about $7500 for the year.

This program depends solely on donations from individuals and organizations in our community to keep food stocked for the bags each week. Without these donations, the program would not be funded and cease to exist. Currently, we have a great need as our finances are running low, and we will likely not have enough to last through the remainder of the school year.

All money donated to Panther Packs from now thru March 2024 will be matched by the iCare4Kids project (up to $1000)!! So every dollar we receive from the community will be two!
