What started as a simple farm stand selling baked goods quickly grew into the Shushan Farm bread shed. Every Saturday, neighbors, families, and even people from other towns would come, not just to buy bread, but to connect. Shushan Farm became a place where people showed up for each other, creating a sense of community that had not existed in this way before. It was never just about bread; it was about belonging, warmth, and the joy of gathering together.

Unfortunately, due to local bylaws and a neighbor’s report, I may not be able to operate the bread shed from my home. I am working to change the bylaw, but if I am unable to do so, I hope to find a commercial space for a café, a real home for the community we have built together. I want to create a space where people can sit, stay, talk, bring their kids, meet their neighbors, and feel like they belong. Not rushed, not transactional, just a place that feels warm and alive, rooted in the same values that made Shushan Farm special from the start.
