My name is Sheri, and I am reaching out during the most difficult time of my life. On August 30, 2025, I lost my beloved daughter Hope at just 30 years old. While grieving this unimaginable loss, I am also facing a crisis of my own. I am a disabled woman in my mid-sixties, living in a wheelchair with several rare diseases. For the past two and a half years, I have lived in a senior independent living apartment, but recently, everything changed.

I had saved up for rent, movers, and a security deposit to move to a new senior apartment in Bartlett. On moving day, everything that could go wrong did. The movers were late and took much longer than expected, and in the chaos, my life-supporting medications were accidentally packed onto the truck. These medications are essential for my health, especially my blood thinner, which is extremely expensive without insurance. To make matters worse, the new apartment offer was rescinded at the last minute, leaving me and my two cats without a home. All my belongings are now locked away in storage, and I am left with only the clothes I wore during the move.

Right now, I am seeking help to cover temporary housing, rent and a security deposit for a new apartment, emergency medications, food, supplies for my cats, and assistance to recover my belongings from storage. I also need a new bed, as my old one was destroyed during the move. I am doing everything I can to stay strong for myself and my fur babies, but I cannot do this alone. Whatever anyone can do to help would be greatly appreciated. I know it’s the holidays, but I can’t lose my fur babies when I already lost my Hope.
