Gary, or Shep, as we like to refer to him, is in need of help.
Most of you know that he has been in a custody
battle for years. His first lawyer, that was
recommended to Shep, charged over $100,000
and two weeks before his custody trial, he bailed
because he wanted more money, which Shep
couldn’t come up with. Shep had to represent
himself during the trial which was detrimental to
his case. He ended up losing some of his custody.
He fought very hard during the trial! He is a
combat veteran and served ten times in Iraq and
Afghanistan. Eight of those tours were combat
related. After his last tour he decided to get help with his PTSD. That was used against him during
the trial. He no longer needs therapy or
medication for his PTSD but that did not matter.
(He served 20 years in the Marine Corps.)
For the last year he has endured the hypocrisy
of family court; which believes the mother over
the father. He has not had a voice in regards to his children, especially because he is not represented by a lawyer. He has been working two jobs trying
to save money to hire a lawyer because he has
another custody trial in August. Two weeks ago
he was notified by the Department of Family
Services that he must go to court to refute a claim. This claim is a lie and one of many tactics used by
his ex wife to remove him from his children’s lives.
Because of this new claim, he needs to hire his
lawyer now. Shep interviewed a few lawyers and
found one he really likes. But she needs a retainer. That is where Shep needs help.
I’d love to raise the $15,000.00 he needs to fight
his entire case. But any amount will help.
If you can contribute in any way, that would be
amazing! At the very least, please pray for Shep
and his two young children.
Thank you!
