Help Shelby Get Life-Changing Medical Care at Mayo Clinic

In 2021, Shelby’s world changed when doctors discovered a pituitary tumor, leading to a rare diagnosis: Acromegaly, the adult-onset form of gigantism.

Since then, she’s faced overwhelming health battles — including brain surgery in 2022 — but the journey to healing is far from over. Shelby hasn’t been able to work since January 2024 due to worsening symptoms. Her doctors agree: she needs specialized care from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN to move forward.

While Shelby has been battling ongoing issues with her health, the family has also faced numerous problems with their current home. Their mobile home has reached a point where it is no longer safe to live in, so they need a new home as well. Rather than traveling for treatment, it was determined that moving to Rochester will be best.

The plan is in motion, but financial hardship threatens to delay or derail this life-changing transition. With two more surgeries ahead and her long-term disability now ended, the weight of the household has fallen on her oldest son — just 18 and newly graduated — as he tries to support his mom, his 11-year-old brother, and their loyal beagle, Biscuit.

We’re asking for help to get this family to Rochester, cover basic living expenses, and give Shelby the chance to heal, return to work, and reclaim her life — without her son having to put his own future on hold.
