Help Sheena's Family After Their Loss
Donation protected
We are Chris & Christa and we are raising money to help support Sheena and her 3 children after the sudden and unexpected loss of their husband and father. We met them through Childrens Hospital of GA because we both have a child with Down Syndrome and other medical needs. Their daughter Tinsley has had to be hospitalized a few times very recently. Please help us meet our goal so they can focus on grieving and healing after this tragic situation.
- From Sheena: Bob was only 35 yrs old. In November, we celebrated 12 years of marriage. We have 3 amazing kids (Aubree 11, Dax 4, Tinsley Rose 3) that he adored and provided for our every need so I could take care of the them along with Tinsley's 24 hr care. He was an AMAZING father and husband.
- I'll include the details of how he passed best it was explained to me. Bob got sick about 2 months ago over the holidays. I took him to our local ER and he was diagnosed with double pneumonia. They let us go home with strict instructions, and I made sure he took his meds. But, he never missed a day of work and was fine until now. Fast forward to Monday (Jan 29th), he had a 4 day work trip. He didn't fill the best, but he's ran that work crew. We all had a 24 hr bug so we figured that was what was going on with him. The guys had to call the ambulance to the airbnb because he was so sick. EMTs had to help dress him. I'm finding all of this out 3 hrs away with sick kids. They get him to Piedmont in Monroe, Ga, and I get a phone call from his cell. He was alert enough to get his nurse to call, and I could hear him muffled because he was on a BiPAP. So the nurse told me he was critical, and it spiraled from there: 4 different BP meds, sedation, 12 things total dripping while he was placed in the prone position for 16 hrs to help his lungs. He had the highest fever they had ever seen 107.1 with a 40° cooling blanket on. He stayed like that for hours while I let him know I was there, rubbing his arms where I could. His body started mottling and produced so many tiny clots that his legs, back and arms were purple and black. I knew he may not make it, but his night nurse Bryton was great and exhausted all help. Unfortunately, he wasn't there even 24 hrs. He was septic, double pneumonia, pneumonia STREP, and he had a GI bleed that caused 2 additional bacteria growths to be found in bloodstream.
Sadly, Bob didn't make it. Sheena and her children have a long road ahead and it is our hope to help them so finances are not an immediate concern. Help us help them!
This is the verse that Sheena shared on her Facebook post shortly after Bob's passing.
Matthew 5:4 "Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted."
