In December of 2023 my grandmother (Sharon) was diagnosed with breast cancer as well as gallbladder cancer. The very fierce, giving and nurturing woman who raised me, my mother, my two uncles and a handful of grandkids would have to go through a very grueling and agonizing fight. Over 87 doctors appointments within one year, that’s almost every 4 days! But guess what? She did it and with a smile on her face, and God in her heart. After going through gallbladder surgery, a mastectomy on her right breast and tons of fluid release appointments, and inpatient treatments. October of 2024 we found out her cancer had metastasized to her bones. Yet still she’s put on a brave face, and given others her strength, guidance and love when she’s had so little to give. After going through every little pill she could be prescribed she has decided to go forth in a holistic and natural way of healing at a treatment center in Mexico Along with also getting cancer treatment at Moffit Cancer Center. This is an alternative way of healing and in our families opinion what she truly needs to heal and stay around for a very long time. The total funds exceed our starting goal but even if it’s a little it goes such a long way. My grandmother has given so much to her community as a registered open heart nurse, a loving mother, grandmother and overall a wonderfully humble person. Anything helps, and prayers are always welcome. We do hope you’ll take the time to read her story, her first trip will be on January 27th and again in 3 months once she arrives back.
