Help Sharon's Family Find Stability

Hello friends and family,

I’m reaching out with a heartfelt plea. I'm trying to help out my family and I would very much appreciate it if you could please take the time to read the following.

This past year has been really hard for my sister, her husband, and their three sons, Nathan, Drew, and Garrett.

Financial struggles that began early in 2023 escalated when my sister, Sharon, was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer that had already spread to her bones and liver. She requires monthly bone infusions, is on medications, and is doing well for the most part. But she is unable to work.

The diagnosis brought both emotional and financial challenges that she and her husband hadn't prepared for. Despite their efforts to stabilize, they had to make the hard decision to sell their family home in March 2024. Unfortunately, due to a clouded title that they had no prior knowledge of, the sale fell through, and their home went into foreclosure in September.

They have now been served an eviction notice and must leave by January 2nd. But they have nowhere to go. They have been doing whatever they could to stay afloat, but right now the family’s only income includes contributions by family and a small source from their son Nathan, who has been working a seasonal job. However, his employment ends on December 30.

For now, my husband and I are letting them borrow our travel trailer, which they plan to live in temporarily, but they need money to be able to stay at an RV park for at least a few months. They are also working with county housing assistance to secure more permanent accommodations, but the process is very slow. In the meantime, they are in desperate need of funds to help with time-sensitive expenses.

If you can assist them, it would make a huge difference as they navigate this difficult time.

The funds raised would go toward securing more permanent housing, paying for storage to store their belongings, repairing their second car, which is vital to them, once operational, to try and seek employment, and other miscellaneous expenses.

Reaching out to strangers is both humbling and difficult. I don't want to impose, and I understand completely if you're unable to help. They are so grateful to family that have already helped them tremendously over the past year. Their support has been a lifeline, but their resources are understandably exhausted.

Thank you for considering my message, and I hope everyone has a Happy Holiday Season.

With love,
Tina
