Today I walked into a Walmart and met a woman working there named Sharon who was off the clock buying groceries. I approached her and asked if she could help me buy some food for my baby. Without hesitation, she reached into her pocket and pulled out a dollar to help me. I then gave her $500 for her kindness, and she began to tear up and tell me her story.
As we talked, what I learned broke my heart. Sharon is 71 years old about to turn 72, and after her son passed away, she went into credit card debt just to bury him. She’s struggling to make ends meet and put food on her table at the moment and has no clear path to retirement. And yet, through all of that pain, she was still kind, generous, and full of joy. That kind of heart deserves to be seen. Let’s rally around Sharon and help her retire.
