Let me introduce myself, my name is
- Shaneice, known to friends and family as Shanie. I am a mother of two beautiful children, a teen son (15) and daughter (7), who are my world. I am reaching out for help/support. Here is just a brief summary of my journey. During the time of Covid, I was diagnosed with stage two breast cancer, and while going through treatment, I lost my job, which led me to losing our safe haven, our home. My income dwindled drastically; of course, there were family and friends who helped as much as they could. Eventually, things started turning around for us; we saw a gleam of hope, then all of a sudden, the light disappeared. I am saddened to say that here I go again, several years later, my biggest fear has returned.
- I have now been diagnosed with stage four metastatic breast cancer, which has spread to my liver (operation is not an option) and also spread throughout my spine. It’s extremely painful to constantly be moving around, but I try to push through it. We lost our apartment again, so we’re staying at a motel, and at this point, with very little money to survive, I’m not sure where we will end up. Despite everything I’m going through, I am trying to make sure my kids have nothing to worry about. That’s a difficult thing to do because my son sees me, and I see the pain in his eyes, and my daughter, she just knows mommy is always sick and constantly spending days in and out of the hospital, can’t function because I’m always sleeping due to the meds. This is not the life I wanted for them; they deserve so much more from me as a mom. This cancer has really hurt my family and the quality of life they deserve. My precious children are the ones who are silently suffering. I want to get them in a better place. I would be so grateful and appreciative for any kind of support/donations that could help us out on this difficult journey called life.
