Help Shana & David Rebuild After Tornado Loss
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
We’re reaching out on behalf of our dear friends Shana and David Pitawanakwat, who just experienced a devastating event.
While camping at Samuel de Champlain Park, their site was hit by a sudden tornado. Their trailer, filled with years of memories, travel gear, and David’s cherished hunting and fishing equipment was destroyed.
Thankfully, they are safe. David’s quick actions saved Shana’s life, and for that, we are deeply grateful.
Nature had become a grounding force in their lives. David, an Odawa/Anishinaabe man, helped Shana fall in love with the land, something she never expected.
Like many travelers, they never expected a storm like this. Without insurance, they’re now navigating an unexpected and difficult loss.
We’re asking for your support to help Shana and David recover what they can and begin rebuilding the life that brought them so much joy.
Any amount helps, and every donation goes directly to replacing essential gear, and transportation.
Please give what you can and share this fundraiser widely.
