We are close family friends of Shain and their amazing three kids, Winnie, Quince, and baby Sunny. Shain is going through a divorce process with their long-time partner. While they were hoping to be able to come to parental agreements via mediation, it has become necessary for them to get the professional support of a lawyer. As a full-time stay-at-home parent to the three children, they cannot afford the immense and unexpected financial burden of having to secure needed legal support.

They are actively looking for work and planning to both work and be with the kids as much as possible through this divorce process and beyond. As a PhD, Shain has experience in research around trans parent families, where at least one parent identifies as trans. Shain is a loving, committed parent who is working their hardest to make sure their kids have as much stability, safety, and consistent care as they possibly can through this difficult period.
