My name is Sana Kamin, and I’ve started this GoFundMe for my family in the wake of my father’s passing. Shahwali Kamin, my beloved father, passed away on August 29, 2024, after a challenging battle with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). MS is a chronic, incurable condition that affects the central nervous system, attacking the brain and spinal cord.

My dad’s symptoms began in January 2022, and by May 2022, after a severe fall at work, he became fully unable to walk. Over time, his health declined, and he became bed-bound, suffering from a range of debilitating symptoms, including extreme weight loss, muscle weakness, vision problems, fatigue, and difficulty speaking. His condition was heartbreaking to witness, but throughout it all, he remained strong for us.

Before his illness, my dad was the sole provider for our family of seven—my mom and his five children, ages 14, 18, 20, 22, and 23. His entire reason for moving to America was to provide his children with better opportunities. He worked tirelessly without ever complaining, always putting his family’s needs above his own.

Since he could no longer work, my 18-year-old brother and 20-year-old sister had to find jobs immediately after graduating high school to help support the household. Four of us are currently in college, and our family is struggling to manage tuition costs, mortgage payments, health insurance, and everyday expenses, all while coping with the grief of losing our father.
