My name is Shadi, and I am from Gaza. Before everything changed, I lived a simple, peaceful life with my family. But one day, my life took an unexpected turn. During a severe incident, I was badly injured and lost both of my legs. Overnight, I went from being able to work and support my family to depending on others for everything.
Yet, the greatest pain I carry is not for myself it’s for my little son, Ahmed, who was born with a rare and serious condition called Fanconi Anemia. This illness threatens his life and requires urgent medical treatment abroad, care that is currently unavailable where we live due to the limited medical resources.
Today, our lives are filled with both pain and hope. We are doing our best to stay strong, but we need help to continue — to get proper medical treatment, to rebuild, and to give Ahmed the chance every child deserves: the chance to live and grow healthy.
I am launching this campaign to ask for your kind support. Any help no matter the size brings us closer to traveling for treatment and starting anew.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who extends compassion, shares our story, and helps us move toward healing and hope.
