After many years of tremendous suffering my mom Wendy Welles Dillon passed away on March 10, 2025. She passed at home, with my brother Matthew- her primary caregiver - by her side. I was not there when she passed, but I was able to spend time with her, caring for her before she did.

Matthew was her primary caregiver for the past 8 years - living at home with her, and devoting his life to her care and dignity.

Caregivers in this country often work close to 24/7/365 for minimum wage and Matthew was no different. While I was a secondary caregiver for our mom while also working, when I had breaks from work or on holidays, he was on the ground most of the time, especially in the last two years, as I supported things financially. We both spent countless hours trying to find help for her, but also for him. Unfortunately, none of those seeds ever grew.

As we close down the house I've done everything in my capacity to help set Matthew up for success as he looks for a new place to live. With not much extended family to lean on I'm reaching out to community to help set him up even more.
