My daughter Quinn became close friends with Servando (Jr.) Moreno in high school, bonding over their shared love of soccer and their roles as team captains. The summer after their senior year, Servando’s father, Servando Moreno Galvez, was abruptly taken from his car by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), despite having followed the proper procedures for years in pursuit of citizenship. He is a devoted husband and a loving father to three incredible boys who are strong students and very talented soccer players. His dad worked hard, paid taxes, and was always there for his family, cheering his sons on from the sidelines. After being detained for months, the court deported him to Mexico, tearing this family apart. His wife and children are heartbroken and living with the constant pain of separation and fear of the unknown. All they want is the chance to see their father again, to hug him, and to spend time together—but the cost of international travel is overwhelming for them.
