Help Sergei Shchaslivy and his Family
Donation protected
This is a private fundraiser for the urgent needs of Sergei Shchaslivy and his family.
While recently fleeing Ukraine, Sergei, his wife and their seven children were fired upon by Russian soldiers. Sergei's 7-year-old daughter, Anastasia, was shot and killed, and his 11-year-old daughter, Lida, suffered severe head wounds. The family is currently in Italy waiting for neurosurgeons to remove a bullet fragment lodged in Lida's brain. Her final brain surgery will be on December 5th. Afterwards, the entire family will fly from Rome to Canada, where they have acquired visas to work and study.
Please join us in supporting Sergei and his family through these devasting circumstances through prayer and financially. Funds will be used for the family's flight to Manitoba.
Lucy Martens will be the beneficiary of the funds. She works closely with Svitlana and Nikolai Usach. Nikolai is the pastor of a small Ukrainian church in Steinbach, MB. He and his wife have been in continuous contact with Ukrainians who have needed help resettling in the Steinbach area. Their church has already privately sponsored and supported several families. This involved covering the costs of flying to Manitoba, finding homes to rent, and acquiring clothing and furniture through the gracious support of the Steinbach community.
The funds will be used as follows:
Plane tickets will be purchased in January, as we anticipate that the flights will be more affordable after the holiday season.
Should we reach our goal and there are any remaining funds, they will be used for the resettlement of the family and to provide them with basic needs such as groceries.
Thank you so much for your kind consideration for this cause at a time when many are struggling and needs are great.
