Help Sereima and Tukai rebuild after a house fire in Fiji
Donation protected
Last week, while they were at the local market selling their produce, my cousin Sereima and her husband lost everything when their home on our small family farm in Fiji was completely destroyed by fire.
All that was left were a few pieces of tin, two cooking pots that had been left at the church, and the clothes they were wearing.
They’ve worked incredibly hard over the years—growing food, selling at the markets, and more recently, starting a small sewing business to help support themselves. Their dedication and determination had built a simple but fulfilling life, and it was heartbreaking to see it all wiped away in a single day.
They now face the difficult task of starting again from scratch—rebuilding their home, replacing essentials, and trying to restore a sense of stability.
We hadn’t planned to create a GoFundMe, but after some kind friends and family asked how they could help, we wanted to offer this as a way to support them directly. Any contribution, no matter the size, will go straight to helping them recover and rebuild.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support.
