From childhood I have wanted to dedicate my life to international non-profit work. This dream is starting to become a reality as I have gotten the opportunity to work in Thailand and Laos this summer for a South-East Asia combined program with GIVE volunteers.
Through GIVE, I will become immersed in colorful hill-tribe communities for my first few weeks in Thailand. I will be working alongside locals on a variety of sustainable agriculture, reforestation and English education projects.
Following this, I have chosen to extend my stay and dedicate another two weeks to working in Laos. Here, I will be working exclusively with my small team to support remote villages on a variety of English education, eco-friendly infrastructure and wildlife conservation projects
My goal, through GIVE, is to assess the resources, skills, and knowledge already available in a community, unite the community around issues that inspire its members to act, and then work alongside local leaders to form a plan of action. GIVE’s ultimate goal is for our host communities to take full responsibility of our projects as soon as possible.
Please deeply consider helping make my dream into a reality and aid me in lending my able hands to these communities in need of MY help.
