Help send little girl to summer camp
Donation protected

Hello my name is Sarah and I am the mother of Christine (the little girl on the horse). Christine rides horses as part of her therapy, she is speech delayed and autistic level 3/3 (severe). She rides at Sunrise Therapeutic Riding & Learning Centre. I have been on the waitlist for funding (SSAH) for the monthly lessons for over a year, so I have been paying for those out of pocket ($240 a month). Since riding she has made so much progress in speaking and being able to form relationships and even her mood has improved. She loves riding. There is a summer camp that she would love to attend. I was able to get the registration fee taken care of ($595, horse farm had a scholarship of $300 for her and then my boyfriend as a gift to my daughter paid the remaining $195). We found out because of how low functioning she is (still wears pull ups) that she needs a PSW during her time at camp and unfortunately it can't be a family member. We found a PSW that my daughter absolutely loves but unfortunately she is $30 an hour. We need a PSW for 8 hours a day for 9 days. Which is $2,160. Normally the PSW is paid for by the benefits but unfortunately we are still waitlisted and will not be on it until after the summer. I already pay $240 a month just for her lessons. I cannot afford another $2,160 right now. I would hate for her to miss out on this amazing opportunity seeing as being with the horses has helped her so much. Her best friend is her horse Toby (her words). I would appreciate any help that anyone is able to do, so this little girl can have an amazing summer. I have looked into every other emergency funding option in the region and we don't have any. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.
