Please help us at COSAARPR raise funds to attend the very important NAARPR national conference, to help us build community control of the police here at home! We would not only send our own members, but also the families we’re working with who have lost loved ones to police violence. 2025 is on track to be the deadliest year of police violence in CSPD’s history, and so our fight against this racist terror is only ramping up. This conference is an opportunity for us to learn from national leaders about successful campaigns against police shootings in the past. Funds raised here would go towards travel, hotel stay, conference registration, and food for those attending.

What is NAARPR?

The National Alliance Against Racist & Political Repression was founded in 1973 to fight back against the unjust treatment of people for their race or political beliefs. The Alliance’s first campaign was to free Black activist Angela Davis from a frame-up by the FBI on murder charges. The Alliance is actively campaigning to get civilian control of the police so that the people can hold the police accountable when they commit crimes such as assault, murder, torture, and racial profiling. The Alliance works side by side with families and victims of police violence fighting for this goal and for justice in each case.

What’s NAARPR’s Conference About?

Each year NAARPR holds an organizing conference where activists and families across the nation come together to talk about their struggles against police crime. During the conference NAARPR hosts a series of panels and workshops prepared by organizers and families about their experiences surviving and fighting back against political repression. These conferences are an opportunity for people to learn from each other's successes and failures as we all work together towards community control of the police and getting justice for victims. As Trump escalates the political repression of all people, these conferences are an especially valuable opportunity to figure out how people are building coalitions to effectively fight back against his racist and reactionary agenda.

Why are we fundraising for this?

We are an all volunteer grassroots organization made up of mainly working class people. We want to make sure that this conference is accessible to all of our organization members and family members and not just the ones who can afford to pay their own way.
