Hi, my name is Scot Smith, and I’m a founding member of Cairns Cars & Coffee. What started as a simple idea to bring car enthusiasts together has grown into something far bigger—a vibrant, family-friendly community that meets every month to celebrate our shared love of cars, coffee, and connection.

Over this year, I’ve watched this event become more than just a car meet. It’s a space where friendships are made, memories are created, and our passion for cars is celebrated. Seeing this community come together has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, and it’s all thanks to you—the people who make Cairns Cars & Coffee so special.

But now, we’re facing a challenge that puts the future of our meets at risk. As our event has grown, so too has the responsibility to ensure it’s safe, professional, and compliant. Following legal advice, it’s clear that Public Liability Insurance is no longer optional—it’s essential.

Why we need your help:

Without Public Liability Insurance, Cairns Cars & Coffee cannot operate in 2025. Four of the venues we rely on have informed us that we must provide a certificate of currency to continue holding events on their premises. This insurance is crucial to protect everyone involved—from organisers like myself to volunteers and attendees.

Every dollar raised will go directly toward securing Public Liability Insurance for 2025. This is a critical step in ensuring Cairns Cars & Coffee can continue running legally, responsibly, and safely.
