Help secure housing for my disabled brother
Donation protected
I am raising money for my disabled brother who has to move to a smaller place due to losing income that was provided by my father who is now deceased and my older brother who is now incarcerated long term. My brother receives $975 in disability but his current rent is $1,990 which does not include utilities and necessities he requires due to disability. He is legally not allowed to have over $2,000 or he risks losing his disability benefits and he is also unable to work due to chronic illness and risking not qualifying for benefits anymore. So he has no way of being approved for housing.
Expenses breakdown:
$1,100 deposit
$1,100 first months rent
$800-1000 to hire movers due to both my brothers car being stolen and my other brothers car being technically stolen (police impound) and deliberately sold at auction after they impound lot was informed I was coming to take the car.
Any additional funds raised will go toward cleaning services (hoarding) and rehoming 4 out of 9 cats that are also being hoarded in the apartment. If you can provide any resources or information regarding pet rescues in the Fulton/Clayton County, please contact me.
They will also be used to sustain my other brother who is currently incarcerated in a private jail (which means I have to pay for many things that are provided through taxpayers money at most county jails). For transparency my brother had been a heroin addict for 9 years prior to his current incarceration for various charges including drug/paraphenilia possession and theft. I have been providing for him in jail until he receives inmate disability benefits after he developed epilepsy from a traumatic brain injury (he was in a coma for 2 weeks in April 2023 after being shot in the head by an unknown assailant)
Prior to this fundraiser, I raised $2,000 to pay for the car that was impounded but I was not able to retrieve it. Those funds have been used to pay my brothers December rent and utilities.
If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact me directly.
