Ellie came into our lives 15 months ago, a tiny baby with a huge heart who needed some things we had to offer. Over these many months, we have turned into a family whose bond cannot be broken. There is nothing we wouldn't do to guarantee her safety, health, and happiness.

Now that it is time for our review hearing in court, we have made the decision to seek legal assistance and mediation to be 100% sure that Ellie gets exactly what it is that she needs. We've put Ellie's fate in the hands of those who understand child placement laws better than we do. We've done our best to put our own desires aside and let experts guide us through this process. Sadly, this comes with a price.

We want to give Ellie the life that she deserves. She is full of joy, fire, and an unparalleled stubbornness. We will make every effort to be sure none of that gets lost in a custody battle.

Our goals will cover attorney fees, mediation hours, filing and court expenses, and anything Elyanna needs in the process that is not covered by our private insurance. $25,000 is a modest number in the face of all of this, but we are keeping this GoFundMe private, and we do not expect many donors.
