Help Scottish 17 y.o Victim get Justice in Cyprus

In 2019 a Scottish 17-year-old who was in Cyprus on holiday reported being raped and sexually assaulted in the hotel where she was staying.
Despite giving a full account to the Cypriot Police as well as reporting the matter to the Scottish Police no action has been taken to achieve justice for the teenager.
This case follows the well-known Ayia Napa rape case and the international coverage of the treatment of victims of sexual violence in Cyprus by the authorities. There have also been recent reports that Scottish experts in the investigation of sexual offences and care for those subject to sexual violence have travelled to Cyprus to provide training to the Cypriot Police in these areas and to look into the possibility of opening Cyprus’s first rape referral centre.
The Scottish teenager is solely seeking justice for the crime that she has reported.
Her legal support team will be fighting for justice for her within all available forums and will be pressing for the Cypriot authorities to take action. The organisation Justice Abroad has already been providing assistance with the teenager’s pursuit of justice
The teenager is seeking funds to pay for the required legal representation and assistance as well as to to cover connected expenses such as travel and accommodation. She works in an important but low-paid job so needs your support.
We are in direct contact with the victim and will distribute funding received to cover the legal representation and assistance required to take this matter forward according to her wishes as well as to cover her expenses for travel and accommodation when she needs to travel to Cyprus to give evidence. The money raised will be paid directly to those providing assistance to the teenager and directly used to pay for her expenses.
