Help Scott Davis's Family with Funeral and Living Costs

Scott Davis meant a lot of things to a lot of people. He was a son, a brother, a friend, a rock star, but to me, he was Dad. He played music for over forty years, was in two bands, and touched the hearts and ears of so many people. After a sudden and frightening bout of sepsis and several hard days of fighting for his life, he passed peacefully with family at 3:04 am on October 8th, 2024. He is survived by his wife and two sons.

Many would know Scott better by his stage name S.S. Priest (Supersonic) and the two bands he was in during his life, Diamond Rexx and D'Molls on Atlantic Records. From playing on the Sunset Strip in its heyday to climbing the D of the Hollywood sign, the few stories he told of his time in that life are something I will treasure for the rest of my life, even the ones I can't share with polite company. He was ultimately a modest man; he didn't speak much of his time on the road and stage aside from a few bits that only grew as my brother and I grew up and could hear some. Towards the end, I was so lucky to be able to go to his shows and help him in any way I could, even if it was just watching his guitars like a hawk so he could take a photo with someone or talk without worry for a moment.

But to me and my brother, he was just Dad. From me sitting on his lap as a small toddler eating his French fries to him trying and failing to teach me guitar, I wish I had more time. I knew him for making stew when I was sick or even when it was just getting cold, complaining about the bears, or simply playing anything he heard almost perfectly by ear. I would try to show him newer music or some band I liked, and he would give me his ever-so-slightly cocky smile and say he could play that, and then he usually would. But the greatest gift he gave me was a passion and love of music. I'll never be able to play like he could, possibly on any instrument really, but music means a lot to me, and it meant a lot to him, and I'm glad we could share that.

We are starting this GoFundMe for friends, family, fans, and anyone else to help ease the burden a sudden tragedy can bring: day-to-day costs, bills, missed work, death care, and anything to ease the burden and let our family mourn to the best of our abilities. Dad always tried to take care of us during his life, and in a way, I hope he can help us one last time. Between the hospital visits costing us work time or the stress of the coming months, we hope this awesome community made in love of Scott can help the coming weeks and months be about healing and not worrying about bills and the like. It doesn't matter the amount; anything helps right now in this trying time, and if you can't donate, just sharing and spreading is appreciated.

This is his son, Skyler James Davis. We want to make this a unified place of mourning and love of our father, so we (my mother and I) are starting a fresh GoFundMe to assuage any and all concerns of legitimacy. We wish no burnt bridges or anything like that. We all need to come together for Dad, and many people are grieving, but remember, immense pain can spread hatred, but immense kindness can spread peace. Right now, my mother, brother, and I just wish to mourn peacefully.
