Help Scott and Baileigh After Flood Tragedy
Donation protected
So many of you have checked in to see what my son and granddaughter need after being hit by the flash flooding in West Virginia, and I'm forever grateful for your love and concern.
We have taken some time to assess what the next steps are and what is needed to get into a new home and what needs to be replaced.
Their immediate need is to find a new place to live and set up housekeeping again. As most of you know, Scott was just getting back on his feet after a stroke just a few months ago.
In case you don't know what happened, Scott called me at 10:30 pm on June 14th and said, "Mom, there's water in the apartment." He had escaped the rushing waters and was stranded in the yard a short distance away. Just a couple of hours later, he video-called and his apartment was destroyed. As he walked through showing me the devastation, he said, "There goes a rat." I could not believe how much mud and debris had gotten in his apartment in such a short time.
He was one of the lucky ones, saving his vehicle, and was able to salvage their clothes and some fishing gear. Everything else on the main living floor was lost.
There are certainly those who were more heavily impacted, and our hearts go out to them. Please help anyone you can either with time, donations, and prayers.
If you'd like to help Scott and Baileigh put their life back in order, anything you can give is so appreciated.
