Help SCHS Restore 300-Year-Old Farmstead
Tax deductible
Somerset County Historical Society (a public 501c3 nonprofit) is fundraising to stabilize two outbuildings as part of a larger preservation project at a nearly 300 year old farmstead. Once complete, public access will resume and we will be able to do a wider variety of community events, programming, and other activities. This amazing historic site in central jersey is one of a kind, featuring a rare blend of styles and agricultural structures that stood the test of time since as early as the 1730s. Specifically, this fundraiser will be used to stabilize the outbuildings- an adapted chicken coop and a 'hired mans house' to complete the set. Once stabilized, the entire site will be nominated as a historic site in NJ! We at SCHS are looking forward to the opportunity to give this one back to the public and create new, interactive, and engaging ways to bring history to live with this project. Can you help support a timeless effort? Become an honorary historian today!
