Hi everyone,
I’m fundraising for my incredible niece, Scarlett, and my sister, Jill Wallace. Scarlett is 10 years old and was diagnosed with a rare mitochondrial disease at birth. She has faced challenges most of us couldn’t imagine, yet she continues to inspire everyone with her strength, determination, and contagious smile.
Scarlett's means of mobility is her wheelchair, making a standard vehicle impossible to use for this family. For years, my sister has relied on an adapted vehicle to safely transport Scarlett to school, medical appointments, therapy sessions, and family activities. This vehicle has been absolutely essential in giving Scarlett the ability to be part of the world around her.
Sadly, their current vehicle has reached the end of its life. It’s becoming unreliable, repairs are frequent and expensive, and it’s no longer safe to count on for Scarlett’s needs. Adapted vehicles are extremely costly, often two to three times more expensive than a standard car, due to the specialized equipment and modifications required for wheelchair accessibility.
We are raising funds to help my sister purchase a new adapted vehicle that will:
* Safely and comfortably transport Scarlett and her wheelchair without risk or physical strain
* Allow her to continue attending vital medical and therapy appointments
* Give her the freedom to experience more of life outside of her home — from family outings to simple everyday adventures
The cost of this vehicle is far beyond what my sister and brother-in-law can manage alone. Every single donation, no matter the amount, will bring Scarlett closer to having the safe, reliable transportation she needs to thrive.
Scarlett is such a bright light in our family and community. With your help, we can give her the gift of mobility and independence, ensuring she doesn’t miss out on the experiences and opportunities she deserves.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading Scarlett’s story, for donating if you’re able, and for sharing this fundraiser with others. Your kindness and generosity truly mean the world to our family.
