Zipp is an amazing horse that has worked in our therapeutic horseback riding program for 13 years now. Zipp has been one of our hardest working boys by always being part of the field trips, teaching many many kids and adults with disabiliites to ride, taking our kids to horse shows to compete against typical peers and carrying me in many parades.
Sunday, Zipp stopped eating his grain and was in a lot of pain. We had the vet out Monday and thought that it was Potomac Horse Fever. By Thursday, we were still no where better and had just gotten a negitive culture for PHF.
Friday, we brought Zipp to UGA for further testing and found out that he has sand colic. He will stay at the hospital for 3-5 days and undergo a very extensive tubbing/flushing to try to get the sand out of his gut without surgery.
Please help us by donating. I am a single mom and run this program pretty much out of my own pocket. Zipp is a very large part of this program and it would be devestating to a lot of kids if we lost him. Thank you all
