This fundraiser has been created specifically for the preservation of the quality of life for the neighbors and property owners of Twin Beech Road. With the threat of overdevelopment on Twin Beech Road it is imperative that we continue to organize our opposition and strive to keep the area surrounding our properties safe and sanitary.
Since launching our efforts in October 2020, and through the help of attorneys, Fairhope Quality of Life LLC has been successful in opposing the 242 unit apartment complex thus far, but we still have work to do. To date the following accomplishments have been made:
*Mailout of 300 letters to residents informing every one of the planned apartment development and upcoming meetings.
*Multiple emails and formal letters sent via Certified Mail to our County and City decision makers
*Countless strategic emails and phone calls between members, community leaders and residents
*Drone surveys and traffic review studies
*Successful Fairhope Planning and Zoning meeting where the decision was made to table the Apartments agenda item
These efforts do come at a cost. From October 2020 to January 2021, Fairhope Quality of Life LLC has incurred total expenditures of $17,039.64. We believe that it will take another $10,000 to $15,000 to continue the effort to stop this development.
The need for financial support and partnership is imminent so we may continue to fight for this very worthy cause. If everyone could donate $35 to $50 this would help tremendously. In the upcoming weeks, we will be meeting with the Fairhope Public Works director, Water and Sewer Department, Mobile Bay Keeper, Traffic Engineers, Fairhope Planning Director and the Mayor of Fairhope to continue to look for solutions that will better our community. More letters will be sent and research will continue until we succeed with our current task. One hundred percent of all funds received will be used for legal fees and necessary expenses. All other work by residents is voluntary.
Fairhope Quality of Life LLC will not dissolve once this effort is realized. We plan to continue to look for ways to better our immediate area in a multitude of capacities.
