Help Save the last British Legion Club in Aberdeen.......

Our Club, Oldmachar British Legion, has been in the Bridge of Don for over 50 years and we are now the last legion social club in Aberdeen.

It has been a place for service personnel, both serving and ex-services, and also associate members to meet up, catch up with each other and for catching up on local news and of course have a drink maybe play darts, pool or snooker or even a game of bingo at our Sunday nght bingo session!

Until quite recently the club has coped with the price rises in all areas of our usual expenses(stock, wages, Gas & Electric etc) however, we now find that these expenses are becoming too much for us as we are not being supported by the same number of members or guests, due to, in part by our aging membership and newer members joining the club but not coming to actually use the facilities.

We arrange fundraising functions in our hall and these are open to members, their guests and also non-members. The hall and the smaller lounge, are available for members and non-members to book for private functions up to a maximum amount of 100 people.

We also have line dancing sessions, a war gamer club, slimming classes and community groups have meetings in our rooms. We now need your support, either by donation, arranging a function or fundraising event or simply by using the club more regularly.

Please help us survive.
