Please help us literally Save the VFW!!
(UPDATE-
The outpouring was so big that I met with the commander and moved the short term goal up.
This was all made possible by so many of you stepping forward to help.
There were a few very large donations. The private donor that gave over $11,000 made my year.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart....

Helping veterans is one of those rare causes that removes partisan lines… unites ALL of us!
Our local VFW could REALLY use your help!
VFW’s serve as a place for veterans to feel at home. They are vital for the veterans of foreign wars once they have returned home.
Veterans are a very proud group.
It is up to us help them when they need it, as they often won’t ask for much needed help.
This post needs to raise a large amount by November 25th (updated) to stay in operation.
The overhead is huge. So, big changes are being made to help them stay solvent in the short and long term. This is so vital to our veterans, to our community!
The Frankfort VFW (Post 1493) has lost many of its traditional fundraising sources over the years.
The fundraising losses, coupled with pricing that is inexpensive- to ensure affordability for the veterans that utilize their post, has made finding day to day operating costs a challenge.
**This is when we can step in, as a community, to help make sure our veterans always have a post to call home. **
There is no greater way to show patriotism than to honor the veterans that serve our nation!!
Please help us make sure that Frankfort VFW post 1493 is here for our local veterans for the long haul.
Hoping Veterans Day will be a big push for this fundraising campaign
No donation is too small. Every dollars helps!
Even sharing this link can help us reach our goal to ensure the post is here for years to come!
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I believe in my community, my fellow Americans.
. I know we ALL appreciate and respect our veterans.
Unity is crucial these days.
Let’s come together and help literally save our local VFW!
Read below for some history of the VFW:
The purpose of the VFW is to speed rehabilitation of the nation's disabled and needy veterans, assist veterans' widows and orphans and the dependents of needy or disabled veterans, and promote Americanism by means of education in patriotism and by constructive service to local communities. The organization maintains both its legislative service and central office of its national office in Washington. The nationwide program serves disabled veterans of all wars, members and nonmembers alike, in matters of U.S. government compensation and pension claims, hospitalization, civil-service employment preference, and etc.
Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States (VFW) is an American war veterans organization headquartered by James C. Putnam in 1899!
Membership consists of veterans who, as soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen, and coast guardsmen served the United States in wars, campaigns, and expeditions on foreign soil or in hostile waters.
Local posts serve as headquarters for your local veterans.
Thank you!
