Dear friends of Brixton & St Matthew's

Did you know that since the 1990s, the iconic St Matthew’s Church building in the middle of Brixton between the Town Hall and Windrush Square has been run by an independent charity dedicated to developing the building as a resource for the local community?

Known since 2016 as the St Matthew’s Building Charity, we offer affordable hire to local organisations such as community choirs, orchestras and small charities who have their offices and use our theatre and conference spaces for events, practise sessions and performances. We finance this by letting parts of the building to commercial organisations.

The Charity has never fundraised before but for the next 3-4 months we need your help so as to continue to support our wonderful building users who do so much for Brixton people.
