Help Save Saturnia Lakes!

Hello Everyone, 

I live in the Saturnia Lakes community in North Naples.  Saturnia Lakes' tree lined streets are what attracts people and Florida wildlife to our community. 

Unfortunately, homeowners are now up against a rogue HOA that has decided to cut down every single oak tree lining each street throughout the entire community leaving all bare and the landscape more akin to a desert than a lovely community.  The HOA has made this decision without consulting homeowners or acquiring a vote.  Our HOA has illegally removed hundreds of trees over the past few years without replacing a single one.  Homeowners have been battling them to allow us to vote but they have denied us of our voice.  They know that we would win if they ever did hold a referendum.

Homeowners recently petitioned to stop the tree removal and to meet on the issue.  After being covered by local news and days of protests within Saturnia Lakes and a cease and desist letter, the HOA has had no choice but to temporarily call off the tree removal and to call a community meeting on Tues, April 6 2021.  

Homeowners who are demanding a vote be held for options to keep the oaks or to replace the oaks with alternative tree types have engaged a law firm to represent us during this meeting and this matter moving forward.  We will not stand down, we will not be bullied by our HOA , and we will fight for our right to vote.

The rash decision to remove the oak trees without a replacement will cost us in loss of property values, increased energy use and loss of exotic birds and wildlife who also reside in the community and help to make it the living place that it is.  Furthermore, the canopy trees  provide shade for people to walk, bike, and play outdoors; Without the trees in the hot Florida sun, we will see fewer families outdoors and as a result, we lose the close community atmosphere we all love and chose as our family homes.

To secure the services of the firm we need to secure a retainer fee of $5,000.  Please contribute what you can and pass this along to neighbors, friends and family.  We are fighting hard, but we are up against HOA, KW property management and the Saturnia Lakes' HOA attorney - all of whom do not have our best interests at heart and all of whom want nothing more than to continue to run everything however they wish without a peep from any of us.  We need legal representation and we need to stand together to win this and to disband this horrific board once and for all.
