Why Golborne Parkside Needs You Now
Golborne Parkside Sports and Community Club has been at the heart of Golborne for generations, recieving a facelift in 2004 when we opened our new clubhouse. What started as a small local rugby club, bowling green and allotment plots has grown into a true community hub a place where over 400 young people learn, play, grow and belong. A place where families gather, friendships form, and memories are made. A place that thousands of local people have relied on through the years for connection, purpose and support.
But today, we face a reality we never wanted to see:
Our club is in serious risk.
Our building, now more than two decades old, is failing faster than we can repair it. Every week another issue appears the boiler struggling to cope, lights failing, leaks appearing, the carpark deteriorating, the internet system barely managing our user groups, and sections of the interior in urgent need of painting, decorating and restoration.
We are doing everything we can.
We cut costs. We raise funds. We host events.
Our volunteers work tirelessly often late at night, after day jobs, after coaching, after caring for their own families.
But the truth is simple:
We can’t fix this alone anymore.
Despite being a club used by more than 800 people every single week, our income doesn’t cover the scale of the repairs we’re now facing. We are desperate because we know what losing this place would mean for our town.
It would mean 400 children losing their safe place to train, play and grow.
It would mean local families losing an affordable venue for birthdays, christenings and celebrations.
It would mean dozens of local community groups losing their home.
It would mean the heart of Golborne losing one of its most important spaces.
Golborne Parkside has always been more than a building.
It is a lifeline for young people.
A gathering place for families.
A support to those who feel lonely or disconnected.
A home for anyone who walks through the doors.
And that’s why we are asking humbly and honestly for your help.
Your donation, no matter how small, will help us:
Restore essential heating and boiler systems
Repair and upgrade our lighting
Resurface our damaged car park
Improve internet and digital infrastructure
Decorate, restore and repair worn-out areas of the club
Keep the doors open for the hundreds of young people who depend on us
We are fighting for our club because it matters.
- To our children.
- To their parents.
- To our volunteers.
- To our whole community.
And today, more than ever, we need our community to fight for it with us.
If you can help with a donation, a share, a message of support you will be part of saving something powerful, something meaningful, something that truly changes lives.
Golborne Parkside has always belonged to its people.
Please help us keep it alive.
