Not long ago, she came across what looked like a legitimate investment opportunity through an Instagram ad. The man behind it claimed to be a financial advisor. He walked her through the entire process, showed her a convincing dashboard, fake returns, and detailed updates that made everything feel real. It started with a $5,000 investment, money she scraped together with hope in her heart. The scammer “doubled” it on screen and told her if she invested more, she’d see even greater returns.

Wanting to create a better life for herself and surprise her daughters with newfound abundance, she took a huge risk. With no savings to fall back on, she turned to an old acquaintance for a $50,000 loan, only to be trapped in a predatory agreement with a staggering 36% interest rate and the devastating risk of losing her home.

Now, the scam has come to light. The “investment” was fake. The money is gone. And the lender is circling.

Our mother is now drowning in stress, heartache, and fear of losing the home she’s worked her entire life to build, a place she dreamed of growing old in. Her heart has been hurting, quite literally, under the weight of this situation.
