My name is Mary, and I am raising funds to pay off delinquent property taxes for my primary residence, where I live with my two daughters, aged 7 and 14. Due to unexpected vehicle breakdowns, rising costs, and the lack of child support from their father, I have fallen behind on these taxes. Despite working full-time with Head Start and pursuing a master's degree, the financial strain has become overwhelming.
The urgency of this situation is critical, as we face a deadline of July 23rd to pay the taxes and avoid the risk of losing our home. This home is not just a shelter for us; it is a place of stability and security for my daughters. Paying off these taxes will allow us to stay in our home and focus on our future without the fear of homelessness.
Your support will make a significant difference in our lives, helping us maintain our home and continue building a better future. Thank you for considering our situation and for any assistance you can provide.
UPDATE:
I have been working hard to try to seek out assistance. I’ve been in contact with Arch Chip McKay Nelson County Attorney who put me in contact with a lady in his office, DCBS, State Revenue/Tax Department, United Way, local churches, Sheriff’s Office, I’ve been in contact with a business owner who is willing to buy my certificate of delinquency which scares me but is better than no options. I did learn that there is Homestead (Senior/Disability) Exemption available for homeowners 65+ or totally disabled if you know anyone this can help! I’m open to any suggestions!
