My name is Lisa Hepburn. My husband Ishmael Hepburn needs to apply for US citizenship before August 18th of this year.

I don't normally ask for help, but as we are in a desperate situation, I really don't know what else to do. My husband of 15 years is about to have his visa expire this month. The immigration lawyer has offered us a discounted rate because he remembers us and likes us, but it's still more than we can afford.

If we fail to raise the funds to hire the immigration lawyer and apply for US naturalized citizenship, he will lose his status as a permanent resident of the United States, which risks deportation and loss of employment and income. Without his income and support, we will be unable to keep up the house and car payments, and most importantly, it will break up our family.

We've had it pretty hard, as we've been living check to check for years now. Between family court fees, general surprises, and unfortunate events, we have not been able to build up savings. I don't want to lose my husband, he means the world to me. He's a very loving, kind, hard working, and funny man. He's been a father to my girls, always been there for me, his family, our friends, and many others. It was a once in a million chance we found each other and it would destroy me if we were separated. Please help us. Any assistance would be appreciated.
