Help Save Our Family Home in Indianapolis

My name is James, and I’m reaching out from Indianapolis, IN, because my family and I are at risk of losing our childhood home due to back property taxes. This house has been the heart of our family for generations. My mother, who is 64 and lives with multiple sclerosis, has spent her entire life here. I’ve also called this place home since I was born. It’s where every birthday, holiday, and family gathering has happened, and where the memories of loved ones and even our pets are part of the very foundation.
Growing up, we never had much. My father passed away from a heart attack when I was just 9, and only a few months later, my mother was diagnosed with MS. We survived on survivor benefits, and my mom fought for years to get disability. When I turned 16, I had to drop out of high school to work under the table with a family friend after we lost one of the checks. Even when my mom finally got disability, it was never quite enough. I’ve tried to go back to school and find stable work, but it’s been a constant struggle. Despite always helping others, I’ve rarely received the same support in return, and now I’m facing the hardest moment of my life.
Recently, my pregnant girlfriend and her daughter joined us. For the first time, they’ve found stability and a sense of belonging under this roof. We’re expecting a baby boy in December, and the thought of losing our home now is overwhelming. This house has always been a safe haven for any family member in need, and it’s where we’ve supported each other through every challenge. With only 10 days left before we risk losing everything, we’re asking for help to keep our family together and preserve the place that means so much to all of us.
Every contribution will go directly toward paying the property taxes and securing our home. Your support will help us stay together and give our growing family a chance to build more memories in the only home we’ve ever known.
