My name is Sammie Allen, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help restoring the home that’s meant everything to my mom, my brothers, and me. Our house has been in our family since the 1950s, when my great-grandpa first bought it, and it holds generations of memories, all rooted in love. But now, it also carries the weight of unimaginable pain and uncertainty.
On May 26th, 2025, my mom and two brothers survived an attack that led to the loss of life and changed our family forever. The trauma of that night lingers, especially in the kitchen and other areas where the event took place. It’s impossible to walk through the house without feeling the weight of what happened. And yet, this house is all we have.
The home hasn't been updated in decades, and its condition is a serious safety concern. What was once a comforting place is now emotionally and physically overwhelming. If you are interested in reading more about our lifelong story, you can find it on KSL. Here’s just a portion of what needs urgent repair
- Complete electrical rewiring ($40,000 estimate)
- Asbestos inside the home
- A cramped, broken bathroom
- Basement flood damage, with walls that are still open
- A collapsing carport, which has forced us to move precious belongings into a storage unit that we can no longer afford.
- A dryer vent system releasing unsafe toxins
My mom has always been a fighter. She’s worked tirelessly, often juggling three jobs to provide for us on her own. She deserves a safe home, not just for her, but for my younger brothers. This GoFundMe is dedicated solely to restoring or replacing our home. (There is a separate GoFundMe set up for groceries, bills, and daily needs.)
If we can keep and repair the house, funds will go directly to home repairs. If we cannot keep the house, your generous donations will help us put a down payment on a new home or cover rent as we relocate.
If you’re unable to donate money but can offer materials, services, or time, we would be incredibly grateful. Every act of kindness brings us one step closer to healing.
Thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting our family. Your kindness means more than we can ever express. We’re holding onto hope, and to each other.
With love and gratitude,
Sammie Allen (Daughter)
