Four years ago, I opened our café with a dream of creating more than just a coffee shop. We built a welcoming third space where Bronx artists can showcase their work for free, neighbors gather for book clubs, community workshops are held, and youth and families can connect with valuable resources.
Over the past year, we've faced repeated water leaks from the apartments above us. Although we've managed to stay open, the constant damage and unexpected expenses have made it impossible to catch up financially. We've continued serving our community despite every setback because we believe this space matters.
Today, we're facing $20,000 in overdue rent and utility bills, and we're asking for your help to keep our doors open. Your support will help us catch up on these expenses, continue providing free space for local artists, host community programs, and bring our first Back-to-School Block Party to the Bronx, connecting families with school supplies, resources, and local organizations.
