My name is Alberto and I am the owner and operator of Work Train Fight, also lovingly known as WTF. This boxing gym has become a cornerstone of our community in NoHo, New York City. Over the last 17 years, WTF has been a safe space for people of all ages to learn, grow, and find strength both physically and mentally.
Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic hit us hard. While our doors were closed, rent continued to accumulate with no relief. Over the past six years, we’ve done everything we can to recover, working tirelessly to repay what we owe, support our team, and continue showing up for our community each day. But despite our best efforts, keeping up with both the past-due balance and ongoing rent has become increasingly difficult. As a result, we’re now facing the heartbreaking possibility of having to close our doors if we’re unable to repay the remaining balance.
This gym has always been more than just a place to train; it’s a family, a refuge, and a space where people feel they truly belong. Within these walls we’ve witnessed lives change, confidence grow, and lifelong friendships take root.
Every dollar raised will go directly toward paying off our back rent, giving us a fighting chance to keep our doors open and continue holding space for the community that calls this place home.
I truly believe there are still so many more lives we’re meant to reach. Closing our doors isn’t something I can accept easily, because I believe deeply in what we’ve built here and the role we play in our community. Any support you can offer would mean more than words can express. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in us, standing with us, and helping keep this community alive.
