Help Save My Ziggy Stardust

My dog, my life, my Ziggy Stardust, was rushed to hospital today.

He is everything to me. I adopted him off the streets during one of the darkest times in my life. I was struggling deeply, and Ziggy gave me a reason to get out of bed. He gave me purpose, unconditional love, and the strength to keep going when I felt like I had nothing left.

This past year has been the hardest of my life.

My dad suffered a sudden subarachnoid hemorrhage and spent over three months in hospital. His recovery has been complicated and life-altering — one aneurysm was clipped, but another remains inoperable. He can no longer work, and our lives have changed forever. In April, my mum and I had to fly home from Japan in an emergency when he began experiencing seizures linked to his condition.

I’m in my final year of university, studying intensively to fast-track my degree so I can support my family. Right now, we’re living off only my mum’s income.

And now… Ziggy is in crisis.

Today, we were told his hospital care will cost nearly $9,000. I am doing everything in my power to make this work — I’m planning to sell my car and anything else I can — but the truth is, I can’t do it alone.

Ziggy is not just a dog. He is family. He is hope. He is the light in a very long tunnel. Losing him might be the thing that breaks what little strength we’ve been holding on to.
