Help Save Ms. Annie Scott’s Student Parking at Apex Friendship High School

Hello, my name is Rebecca Porch, and I am the parent of a student attending Apex Friendship High School this year who is not provided public transportation. My family has lived in Apex for more than 20 years, and our community means so much to us.

I am creating this GoFundMe to help Ms. Annie Scott continue providing much-needed student parking across from Apex Friendship High School.

As many local families know, parking has become a serious challenge for students at Apex Friendship High School. With an overcrowded school and limited student parking available on campus, some families are left searching for safe and reliable alternatives. The student parking shortage was even covered by WRAL last year. https://www.wral.com/news/local/demand-student-parking-apex-friendship-high-school-august-2025/

For years, Ms. Annie Scott has stepped up to help meet that need. Since 2015, she has provided parking for Apex Friendship students and helped many local families solve transportation challenges. Her property currently provides approximately 56 parking spaces, and its impact can extend even further when students carpool.

Over the years, Ms. Annie has worked to address requirements related to operating the property as a Public Vehicular Area so students can continue parking there. This year, she is once again facing challenges related to the property, including approximately $3,800 in fines from the Town, as well as the significant expense of hiring two attorneys to assist her with the matter.

For the families who depend on this parking, this is about much more than a piece of property. It is about giving students a dependable place to park so they can get to school and receive their education.

As of today, students have been able to use the lot safely, and Ms. Annie continues working to keep this option available to our community.

That is why I am asking our Apex community to come together.

Funds raised through this GoFundMe will go toward helping Ms. Annie with the expenses associated with keeping the student parking lot available, including current fines and legal expenses related to the property.

Every contribution can make a difference. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser with other Apex Friendship families, neighbors, alumni, and members of our community.

Ms. Annie has spent years helping local students and families. Now is our opportunity to come together and help her.

Let’s help save Ms. Annie Scott’s parking and keep this much-needed option available for Apex Friendship High School students.

Thank you for donating, sharing, and supporting our community.
